American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI)
(USA) (03.06.1999)
The American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) is an economic indicator
that measures customer satisfaction. In the ACSI, customer’s evaluations
of quality are based on actual experiences with the goods and services
being measured. These goods and services are purchased in the United States
and produced by both domestic and foreign firms that have substantial U.S.
market shares. The first ACSI was released in October 1994. Since then
it has been released quarterly with one or two of the measured seven economic
sectors updated each quarter.

of Biostatistics and the University
of Washington) (03.06.1999)
Biostatistics is a subdiscipline of Statistics which focuses on statistical
support for the areas of medicine, environmental science, public health,
and related fields. Practioners span the range from the very applied to
the very theoretical. The information which is useful to the biostatistician
spans the range from that needed by a general statistician, to more subject-specific
scientific details, to ordinary information that will improve communication
between the biostatistician and other scientists and researchers.

Journal of Educational
and Behavioral Statistics (published quarterly by the AERA
and the ASA and hosted by the Department
of Statistics at University of California
Los Angeles (UCLA), USA) (03.06.1999)
The Journal of Educational and Behavioral Statistics (JEBS) (ISSN 1076-9986)
is published quarterly (spring, summer, fall, winter) by the American Educational
Research Association (AERA) and the American Statistical Association (ASA).
JEBS provides an outlet for papers that develop original statistical
methods useful for the applied statistician working in educational or behavioral
research. Typical papers will present new methods of analysis. In addition,
critical reviews of current practice, tutorial presentations of less well
known methods, or novel applications of already known methods, will be
published. Papers discussing statistical techniques without specific educational
or behavorial interest will have lower priority, as will papers consisting
mainly of Monte Carlo calculations evaluating existing techniques or practices.
Papers that present empirical results about teaching are generally not
acceptable.
Journal of Multivariate
Analysis (published monthly (except March, June, September, and December)
by Academic Press,
6277 Sea Harbor Drive, Orlando, Florida 32887-4900, USA) (03.06.1999)
A central medium for the publication of important research in the general
area of multivariate analysis, the Journal of Multivariate Analysis presents
articles on fundamental theoretical aspects of the field as well as on
other aspects concerned with significant applications of new theoretical
methods. Although articles addressing univariate analysis are considered
for publication, particular attention is given to papers that discuss problems
concerned with more than one variable.
In addition to helping to stimulate research in multivariate analysis,
the journal aims to bring about interactions among mathematical statisticians,
probabilists, and scientists in other disciplines broadly interested in
the area.
